Thirteen teams arrived at Styx in Kirkcaldy to play in the 2006 5 Man Team Championships. In the end, it was "Styx", a SAPPA 'Dream Team' made up of Pat Holtz (capt), Michael Valentine, Stuart Ellis, Scott Gillespie and John Owen, who took the top honours with a thrilling 13-12 win over "Pennies" - a team made up of Ross McInnes (capt), Paddy Moir, Jayson Shaw, George Fagan and Scott Ross. The nip-and-tuck final could have gone either way and it wasn't until the very last ball of the very last rack was pocketed that the outcome became clear.
